Hi! I know you’re wracking your brain trying to think of a holiday gift to give to a great non-profit organization this year. Let me help you with that!

Consider donating to Girls Write Now, a wonderful organization that is mentoring the next generation of women writers who grow up in underserved communities. I’m a mentor this year and that’s my girl Mary up there. She’s the coolest. We meet on Saturday afternoons (sometimes Tuesday nights) at a Crown Heights library to work on her college essays, write fantasy fiction about girl inventors, and trade poems. She’s a Bieliber who has a bird named Tiffany and her favorite literary character is Minerva from In the Time of the Butterflies. Just $20 provides materials for one mentee’s entire portfolio in the program. If two of you donate $10, you’re going to make a huge difference in a young girl’s life (and possibly her professional career).
