ch-ch-ch-changes
so based on some footage that i saw on 30 days the other day i am going to actively try to make better food choices
PARTICIPANT - George Snedeker, 42
RESIDES - Chapel Hill, NC
OCCUPATION - Handyman
AIRDATE - Tuesday, June 17, 2008George Snedeker is an avid hunter who considers it much more than just a sport; to George, hunting is a way of life. George hunts mainly for deer meat and tries to use the entire animal in order not to be wasteful.
For 30 Days, George will live in Los Angeles with vegan Melissa Karpel, 29, and her vegan family: parents Don and Madeline Karpel and her sisters Stephanie and Kimberly, who are 25-year-old twins. Melissa is a Los Angeles Campaign Coordinator for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), a non-profit organization that fights for animal rights on factory farms, in laboratories, in the clothing trade and in the entertainment industry.
they showed scenes from dairy farms, poultry farms, egg farms. most of it was absolutely devastating. i have already cut out beef and pork from my diet (for about the past 2 months now).
i now will attempt (to afford) to cut out some more of the food items that i feel may have been obtained in an inhumane way. i’ve been reading the PETA website trying to get a grasp on what is ok and what is not.
don’t worry - i’m not going to turn into one of those people who scoffs at your food choices. i just want to do my part to reduce some of the pain and suffering.
I’ve been considering going vegan for awhile now. I love food but I love animals more.
