Going vegan (slowly)

So, it’s official. I’m weening myself off of my favorite foods (oh, omelettes! oh, cheese! oh, favorite bodega cookie! I will miss you). Omelettes will be the hardest to give up. They are my favorite breakfast item and I make myself egg white omelettes almost daily for the protein. But I’m going to try cooking some kind of tofu scramble instead. I bought soy milk and it’s just as delicious as skim milk. Everything else I eat is fresh or vegan already so it shouldn’t be a hard transition. But, ask me how I’m doing in a month or so.

I probably shouldn’t try such a drastic diet change right in the middle of training. But that’s why I’m trying to ween myself off things slowly. If I need to keep eating omelettes for the cheap protein on the fly until my race, I’ll do it. But afterward, I’d like to figure out a way to be completely vegan.

BTW, I hope my foodie friends will still hang out with me. :(
